Waukon Downs Postville in Season Opener

The Indians took the floor for the first time that counted Friday night at Postville.  Waukon responded and had a decent game against the Pirates.  Defense led the way as the Indians forced many turnovers that led to easy buckets.  On the offensive end overall the Indians did not have a great shooting night percentage wise, but it was more than enough to defeat the Pirates by a score of 77-42.

Leading scorers for the Indians were: Tatum Meyer-17, Logan Hjerlied-12, Kristyna Herman-11, Mary Halvorson-10, and Carissa Berger-10.

Schlake, Brink, Egan, and Dreckman also made the scoring column in the Varsity game.

Waukon looks to improve and keep winning ways next weekend in the first ever home holiday tournament Friday and Saturday, games starting at 5pm.  Spring Grove, Riceville, and Forest City will be visiting.
