Waukon Dominates Oelwein

The Waukon Indians traveled to Oelwein Thursday December 11th to play the Huskies and look for the second conference road win of the season.  The Indians prevailed 62-41, in a game that was only close for about the first quarter.

Waukon took control early in the game by hitting outside jumpers against a Oelwein zone defense that was determined to make the Indians shoot.  Brittany Schlake and Carissa Berger combined for 6 long range jumpers in the first half (two threes by Schlake) that really made things rough for the Huskies.

Waukon led by 21 at the the half and never looked back.  Leading scorers for the game were:  Mary Halvorson with 18 and 10 rebounds.  Halvorson was 8-10 from the FT line.  Carissa Berger had 13 and led the team with 7 steals.  Jordon Reiser, Brittany Schlake, and Logan Hjerleid all added 8 for the Indians.

Next game will be a huge one vs Decorah.  Game is at Waukon Tuesday December 16th.
