Regular season winding down

It doesn’t seem that long ago that we were talking about preseason scrimmages and the first week of practice and expectations of the young Indian squad.  Many of the expectations have been met or passed with a #4 ranking in class 3A and a 16-1 overall record.

That record includes a perfect mark of 11-0 so far in the Northeast Iowa Conference along with the conference title wrapped up.

Waukon looks to end the conference season with perfection Tuesday at Cresco.  That will be a tough game as the Cadettes have been playing good ball despite the loss of their senior All Conference point gaurd Kayla Kubik.  If the Indians end the confernce with” Perfection” they will then have their eye set on ending another teams “Perfection” as they will host undefeated #2 class 2A Caledonia (Minnesota) on Friday.

Both games will be tough and help get the Indians mind set into what it needs to be heading into district play.

The Indians host New Hampton Wednesday February 18th in the first round.
