Indian Girls Basketball

The Waukon Indians are almost set to start the 2017-18 season.  After all of the spring, summer, and fall workouts/scrimmages the Tribe has 3 practices left before it kicks off the season as the host Kee High #7 ranked in class 1A on Tuesday November 21st.

Tip off for the JV contest is scheduled for 6:15 with Varsity competition tipping off at around 7:30 pm.

Kee High returns 4 starters and their top reserve from a team that was 17-5 and came up 1 point short of back to back state tournament runs in basketball.  Also this group of Kee High girls have won state titles in softball and placed 3rd at the most recent Cross Country State meet, along with placing well at last seasons state track meet.

Waukon has a roster with 1 senior and 10 juniors returning.  Losing lone senior Regan Wasson from the previous season and ending with an 11-11 record.  They return 90% plus production of all major statistical categories.

Last season Kee High defeated Waukon 64-50 in Lansing in both squads first game of the year.

Waukon has just recently completed pre season scrimmages in Waverly vs 3 teams and Onalaska vs 2 different squads in preparation for the opener and their season.

If you can’t make it to the game radio provided by 99.1 The River will be aired next week.
